Join us for an evening of insight and education about the 1986 nuclear powerplant accident in Ukraine with author Michael Haritan. Chernobyl: Aftermath of the Worlds Greatest Disaster, Haritan's part-memoir, part-documentary photography book, part human-interest story focuses on Chernobyl’s Exclusion Zone: the survivors, those still living there, and the children still affected by this devastating nuclear disaster. He'll share how a volunteer trip to teach English to middle school students in western Ukraine turned into his 7+ year passion project to bring this book to life. Learn some of the real, untold stories from the people at ground zero and experience touching yet haunting images of children placed in a state-run psychiatric institution.
